Rugby Philharmonic Choir

Join Us

We enjoy singing a good range of music and the Choir aims to give performances of a high musical standard, also believing that music-making should be fun and a good way to make new friends. We are always looking for new members to swell the ranks with the simple pre-requisite that each singer has a love of singing and music.

When and where are rehearsals?

During the Warwickshire school term-time, rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 7.30 - 9.30pm st Rugby School’s Temple Speech Room, Barby Road, Rugby, CV22 5DW
Members are expected to attend a minimum number of rehearsals, to ensure that we maintain a high standard of performance.

Can I try it out?

If you have basic music skills already, you are welcome to come along and sing with us on a trial basis for a few weeks to see if you wish to join the choir full-time. We will lend you the necessary sheet music, subject to a small charge for music hire. We think you will find us friendly and welcoming.

Can I join in the middle of a term?

You are welcome to come along and try us out at any time, but please be aware that there is an attendance requirement for singing in concerts. That means that if you start more than two weeks into the rehearsals for a particular performance, you may need to wait until the following term before you will be allowed to sing in a concert. This will be the Director of Music's decision

What does it cost to join?

The Rugby Philharmonic Choir is a registered charity, and all members are asked to make a contribution towards the costs of the Choir's activities via an annual subscription. Full membership of the choir costs 100 per year, payable in September - this can be by cheque, cash or bank transfer. New members may pay pro-rata for the remaining part of the year.
Music scores for each concert are supplied with a small charge made through the Choir Librarian.
